Basketball Game Preview: Matagorda Stingrays vs. St. Pius X Panthers

The Matagorda Stingrays will face off against the St. Pius X Panthers at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.

Matagorda is headed into the contest out to prove that what happened against Moulton on Tuesday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. The Stingrays took a blow against the Bobkatz, falling 73-15. The Stingrays were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 55-8.

Trouder Bruening was Matagorda's leading scorer, having posted six points.

Meanwhile, St. Pius X waltzed into their matchup on Friday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They skirted past the Rams 66-63. While the Panthers didn't have the best season last year (they finished 13-20), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.

St. Pius X's victory bumped their record up to 8-3. As for Matagorda, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-2.
