Ankeny (Iowa) snapped
Valley (West Des Moines, Iowa)'s 8-game winning streak, with a 27-10 victory on Saturday.
After taking the lead on a touchdown pass by
Joel Lanning in the second quarter, the Hawks led 13-10 at the half.
Ankeny's standout player in the win was Lanning. The senior quarterback threw two touchdowns.
The Tigers' lone touchdown came on a 15-yard pass in the second quarter.
AHS came into the game allowing 14.4 points per game.
The Hawks got revenge for last year's 14-3 loss to Valley with the victory.
The loss comes after Valley defeated Johnston 42-17 last week.
VHS (10-3) will play a playoff game against Ankeny next week. The Hawks will bring a record of 11-0 into the meeting.
