Basketball Recap: Railey Gibson Key Part of a Team Effort in Yellowjackets Win

There's no place like home for Andrews, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Wednesday. They walked away with a 39-26 win over the Johnsonville Flashes on Friday. The Yellowjackets have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Flashes, too.

Andrews' success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Railey Gibson led the charge by putting up ten points and seven steals. Gibson is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last three games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Camaria Gibson, who went 6 of 13 on her way to 12 points along with six boards and six steals.

Andrews' record is now 2-7. As for Johnsonville, they dropped their record down to 0-4 with the loss, which was their 12th straight on the road dating back to last season.

Andrews didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 59-16 defeat against Kingstree on the 14th. Johnsonville and Green Sea Floyds will compete for holiday cheer at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Johnsonville is facing Green Sea Floyds at the right time seeing as Green Sea Floyds is stuck on a three-game losing streak.
