Baseball Recap: Pacific Comes Up Short

Pacific had lost five straight at home, but on Wednesday they dropped down to 4-9-1 to make it six. They took a 10-6 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Indian Springs COYOTES. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the COYOTES this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 14-4 back in March.

Oscar Trujillo put in work while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. That one hit allowed gave him a new career-low. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.

In other batting news, Micah Madrid was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games he's played.

As for Indian Springs, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 10-5. With that win, they brought their scoring average up to 6.2 runs per game.

On Indian Springs' side, Daniel Necochea was excellent, going 2-for-3 with three RBI and one double. Those three RBI gave Necochea a new career-high. Benny Alcantara was another key player, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs and one RBI.

While Pacific had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 3:45 p.m. on Friday.
