Basketball Recap: Dora Takes a Loss

Dora was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. The contest between them and the Gateway Christian Warriors didn't end well, with the Dora Coyotes falling 71-53. The Coyotes were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Warriors apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in February of 2024.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Gateway Christian to victory, but perhaps none more so than Victor Oaxaca, who went 7 of 11 en route to 20 points and six boards. Another player making a difference was Ethaniel Wigley, who went 6 for 11 on his way to 17 points along with six rebounds and three steals.

Dora's loss dropped their record down to 4-9. As for Gateway Christian, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last ten games, which provided a nice bump to their 10-4 record this season.

Dora will head out on the road to square off against Melrose at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. One thing working in Melrose's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last three matchups. Gateway Christian has already played their next contest (against Floyd), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
