The Morenci Wildcats will head out to challenge the Heritage Academy Heroes at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Morenci is coming into the match hot, having won their last seven games.
On Saturday, Morenci needed a bit of extra time to put away St. Johns. They narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past the Redskins 9-7.

Cameryn Woodall spent all eight innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four earned (and three unearned) runs on eight hits and racked up 13 Ks. She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Kieralyn Madrigal, who went a perfect 5-for-5 with two runs, one double, and one RBI. She is on a roll when it comes to hits, as she's now got three or more in each of the last four games she's played. Jaliyah Hernandez was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.
They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Morenci kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least 13 hits in four consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, Heritage Academy made easy work of Miami on Saturday and carried off a 21-1 victory. The Heroes might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 17 games by six runs or more this season.
Sieana Soltero made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out ten batters over five innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit. Those ten strikeouts gave her a new career-high. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one double.
In other batting news, Christina Martinez was a standout: she went a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases, four RBI, and two runs. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in March. Rowan Asanovich also deserves some recognition as she hit her first triple of the season.
Morenci pushed their record up to 17-11 with the win, which was their fourth straight on the road. The road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 15.0 runs over those games. As for Heritage Academy, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 21-4.
Both Morenci and Heritage Academy just can't seem to miss. The Wildcats have been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 10.7 hits per game. However, it's not like Heritage Academy struggles in that department as they've been averaging only 5.1 hits.
