Softball Recap: Tuesday's Win Is Shorecrest Prep's Sixth in Last Seven Outings

Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Shorecrest Prep walked away with it. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Neumann Celtics a 2-0 shutout on Tuesday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Chargers have posted since April 15th.

Not much got past Samantha Beltran, who gave up just six hits and racked up 11 Ks to keep Neumann off the board.

At the plate, Shorecrest Prep secured the victory behind a pair of hitters. One of them was Madi Bidwell, who went 1-for-2 with one RBI.

Shorecrest Prep has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-6 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.9 runs on average over those games. As for Neumann, with the defeat, they broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 17-5.

As of now, neither Shorecrest Prep nor the Celtics have any future games scheduled.
