Volleyball Game Preview: Dalton Bulldogs vs. Newton Falls Tigers

The Dalton Bulldogs will take on the Newton Falls Tigers in a tournament on Wednesday. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Dalton picked up another tournament win on Monday. They put the hurt on Loudonville with a sharp 3-0 victory. The win continues a trend for the Bulldogs in their matchups with the Redbirds: they've now won six in a row.

The final score came out to 25-15, 25-19, 25-12.

If Grand Valley wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played Newton Falls, they should've done a better job of containing Torrie Fanton. The Tigers came out on top against the Mustangs by a score of 3-1 on Monday for which the team can thank Fanton, who had 22 digs and two aces. She is also on a roll when it comes to assists, as she's now posted 27 or more in each of the last ten games she's played.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-11, 17-25, 25-17, 25-15.

Newton Falls' win came from a few key players Dalton will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Kate Holesko, who had eight digs.

Dalton's victory bumped their record up to 21-3. As for Newton Falls, their win bumped their record up to 17-7.

Everything went Dalton's way against Newton Falls in their previous meeting back in October of 2024, as Dalton made off with a 3-0 victory. Do the Bulldogs have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Tigers turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
