Basketball Recap: Tri-Central's Losing Streak Snapped at Seven Games

Tri-Central can bid farewell to their seven-game losing streak thanks to their game on Wednesday. They walked away with a 47-40 victory over the Elwood Panthers. The score was all tied up 22-22 at the break, but the Trojans were the better team in the second half.

Tri-Central got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Logan Creason out in front who dropped a double-double on 16 points and 11 boards. Creason has been hot, having posted nine or more rebounds the last eight times she's played. Olivia Dempsey was another key player, dropping a double-double on ten points and ten boards.

Several Panthers players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Kelsey Armes, who posted nine points along with seven rebounds and three steals. The dominant performance gave Armes a new career-high in points. Another player making a difference was Breelyn Norris, who earned 18 points in addition to five boards and four steals.

Tri-Central's victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 7-12. As for Elwood, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 11-7.

Tri-Central has already played their next game, a 48-35 loss against Carroll on the 23rd. As for Elwood, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 58-17 win against Wes-Del on the 23rd.
