Basketball Recap: Adam Waite's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Earlville over Serena

Earlville lost against Serena back in February of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Earlville Red Raiders fell 46-37 to the Serena Huskers. The Red Raiders have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Several Red Raiders players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Adam Waite, who dropped a double-double with 16 points and 11 rebounds. The match was Waite's third in a row with at least 16 points. Grady Harp was another key player, putting up eight points and four steals.

Earlville's loss dropped their record down to 12-17. As for Serena, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 16-14.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Earlville will welcome Midland at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Earlville is on a six-game streak of home wins, Midland a four-game streak of away wins -- so someone will have to leave a streak behind on the court. As for Serena, they will host Indian Creek at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
