Coral Shores took a ten-run defeat the last time they faced off against Somerset Academy South Homestead, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. Coral Shores sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 27-25 victory over Somerset Academy South Homestead on Tuesday. Considering Coral Shores' hitters had been struggling lately, the high-scoring outing was a much-needed turnaround.

Coral Shores' win ended a four-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 4-6. As for Somerset Academy South Homestead, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-5.

Coming up, Coral Shores will host Everglades City at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Gators have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 9.73 runs per game on average), something the Hurricanes will no doubt try to take advantage of.
