Basketball Recap: Kelly Walsh Trojans vs. Green River Wolves
Even though the Green River Wolves scored an imposing 56 points on Saturday, the Kelly Walsh Trojans still came out on top. Kelly Walsh walked away with a 64-56 win over the Wolves. The win made it back-to-back wins for Kelly Walsh.
Kelly Walsh got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Mason Eager out in front who scored 25 points along with two steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Eager has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Jack Nicholls, who scored 16 points.
Kelly Walsh's win bumped their record up to 7-9. As for Green River, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-9.
Kelly Walsh and the Braves will face off at 7:30 p.m. on February 9th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Star Valley knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past nine games -- so hopefully the Trojans like a good challenge. As for Green River, they will be playing in front of their home fans against the Wolverines at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in Wyoming (Riverton is ranked 11th, while the Wolves are ranked 33rd).
