Soccer Game Preview: Washington-Wilkes vs. Elbert County

The Washington-Wilkes Tigers will challenge the Elbert County Blue Devils at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Washington-Wilkes' offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for four straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.

Washington-Wilkes managed to keep up with Oglethorpe County until halftime on Friday, but things quickly went downhill from there. Washington-Wilkes came up short against Oglethorpe County, falling 7-1. Aiden Bridges was hit with a yellow card, which may have had some impact on his (and the team's) ability to make aggressive plays.

Washington-Wilkes' goal came courtesy of Emiliano Aburto, which was the first he's scored this season.

Meanwhile, Elbert County lost 6-1 to Franklin County on Monday. The Blue Devils have struggled against the Lions recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost matchup.

Elbert County now has a losing record of 1-2. As for Washington-Wilkes, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-3.
