Volleyball Game Preview: Spaulding Red Raiders vs. Portsmouth Clippers

The Spaulding Red Raiders will face off against the Portsmouth Clippers at 5:15 p.m. on Wednesday. Spaulding will be strutting in after a victory while Portsmouth will be coming in after a loss.

Spaulding had to skate by with only a one-set margin when they last took the court, which might have inspired the three-set drubbing they dealt Keene on Friday. The Red Raiders put the hurt on the Blackbirds with a sharp 3-0 win. The Red Raiders haven't had any issues with the Blackbirds recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.

Meanwhile, Portsmouth faced Dover in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Monday. The Clippers fell just short of the Green Wave by a score of 3-2. Clippers fans who chose to attend the game sure picked the wrong one: it was the first time the team has lost against the Green Wave since Monday.

Portsmouth's defeat ended a three-match streak of wins at home and dropped them to 6-6. As for Spaulding, their win bumped their record up to 3-9.
