It's playoff time, and Bloomfield had no trouble coming through when it counted. They walked away with a 4-1 victory over the Cloverdale Clovers on Monday. The win was nothing new for the Cardinals as they're now sitting on four straight.
Lila Koontz made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out ten batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned run off five hits. Koontz was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one run and one double.
Koontz wasn't the only one making solid contact as five players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Brylie Agee, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one RBI. Maggie Lockenour also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.
Bloomfield's record is now 14-9. As for Cloverdale, their loss dropped their record down to 6-13.
Coming up, Bloomfield will face off against Shakamak at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Cloverdale does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
