You can't lose the game if you win every quarter, and that was precisely Central's strategy against Longmeadow on Friday. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that the Golden Eagles blew the Lancers out of the water with a 73-40 final score. The matchup was all but wrapped up at the end of the third, by which point the Golden Eagles had established a 21-point advantage.

Central was led to victory by Giavanna Mars and Ziyan Wallace. Mars went 8-for-13 to rack up 21 points along with six boards and five steals, while Wallace shot 45% from the field on her way to 16 points in addition to five rebounds and five steals. The game was Mars' third in a row with at least 21 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Mya Ocana Saunders, who posted ten points and three steals.

Central now has a winning record of 2-1.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. Central will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Northampton at 7:00 p.m. on the 29th.
