Basketball Recap: MacDonald Comes Up Short

MacDonald and Summit Shasta squared off in some playoff action on Tuesday, but MacDonald had to settle for second. They were dealt a 74-42 loss at the hands of the Summit Shasta Black Bears. While losing is never fun, the Condor can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 920th in California, while the Black Bears are ranked 409th in California).

MacDonald has also been struggling recently as they've lost 15 of their last 17 matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 9-16 record this season. The victory (which was Summit Shasta's 14th in a row) raised their record to 22-3.

MacDonald does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Summit Shasta, they will square off against Palma at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. One thing working in Summit Shasta's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last 15 contests.
