Basketball Recap: Innovation Skates Past Lake Buena Vista with Ease

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against East River, Innovation was happy to have turned things around on Thursday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Lake Buena Vista Vipers 54-18. That 36 point margin sets a new team best for the Bulls this season.

Leading Innovation to victory were Nelly Elgamal and Eli Reid. Elgamal posted 17 points in addition to six assists and five boards, while Reid scored 11 points along with eight rebounds and eight steals. Another player making a difference was Ela Bastug, who earned eight points and eight boards.

They weren't the only one working in the assists department: Innovation was working as a unit and finished the game with 14 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

Innovation's record is now 3-12. As for Lake Buena Vista, the defeat snapped their winning streak at five games and leaves them with a 7-5 record.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Innovation will square off against University at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Lake Buena Vista, they will face off against Cypress Creek at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
