Baseball Recap: Shawnee Picks Up Fifth Straight Win at Home

The home team had won the previous three meetings between Shawnee and Bishop Eustace Prep, and Shawnee kept the tradition alive. The Renegades won by a run and slipped past the Crusaders 4-3. For the Renegades, this counts as revenge for the 8-7 victory the Crusaders walked away with the last time they faced one another back in April of 2024.

Shawnee got a great performance from Drew Tenet as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit over 4.1 innings pitched.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Mak Heino, who scored a run and stole two bases while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. He also put up an RBI, which was his first of the season.

Shawnee's win was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 3-1. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.4 runs over those games. As for Bishop Eustace Prep, their loss ended a three-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 1-2.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Shawnee will face off against Cherokee at 3:45 p.m. on Thursday. As for Bishop Eustace Prep, they will square off against Moorestown at 3:45 p.m. on Thursday.
