Preview: George Jenkins Eagles vs. Lake Region Thunder
George Jenkins is 6-1 against Lake Region since January of 2015, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. After a string of four wins, George Jenkins' good fortune finally ran out. They fell just short of Jordan Christian Prep by a score of 39-37. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat George Jenkins has suffered yet this season.
Taylor Gibson put forth a good effort for the losing side as she scored 14 points along with nine rebounds and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Taleah Turner, who scored six points along with eight rebounds and three steals.
Davenport typically has all the answers at home, but on Monday Lake Region proved too difficult a challenge. They came out on top against the Broncos by a score of 43-31. The win was nothing new for Lake Region as they're now sitting on four straight.
George Jenkins' defeat dropped their record down to 11-9. As for Lake Region, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a massive bump to their 8-9 record this season.
George Jenkins didn't have too much breathing room in their game against Lake Region when the teams last played back in December of 2023, but they still walked away with a 46-42 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for George Jenkins since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
