Baseball Recap: Monett Starts off Right with Win over Southwest

Monett gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Friday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Southwest Trojans a 15-0 shutout.

Aidan Clapper was a standout: he scored four runs and stole a base while going 3-for-3. Miles Young was another key player, scoring three runs and stealing two bases while going 2-for-3.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Monett will host Reeds Spring at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Southwest, they will challenge New Covenant Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
