Softball Game Preview: Gosnell Pirates vs. Brookland Bearcats

For the second straight game, Gosnell will face off against Brookland. The Pirates will take on the Bearcats at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Gosnell is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.4 runs per game this season.

Gosnell fell victim to Brookland and their airtight pitching crew on Tuesday. They lost 7-0 to the Bearcats. The Pirates' loss signaled the end of their seven-game winning streak.

Avery McHan spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and six unearned) runs on six hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances.

The victory snapped Brookland's losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 7-7 record. As for Gosnell, their defeat was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 4-1 and their overall record down to 8-3.
