Softball Recap: Georgetown Takes a Loss

If Georgetown was feeling good fresh off their 16-1 takedown of Avoyelles on Saturday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Georgetown Bulldogs came up short against the Marksville Tigers on Saturday, falling 12-2. The Bulldogs were not able to make up for their loss to the Tigers from their previous meeting back in March of 2022.

Georgetown's defeat dropped their record down to 2-2. As for Marksville, their victory bumped their record up to 4-2.

Coming up, Georgetown will square off against Glenmora at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Marksville, a feisty cat fight will be fought as the Tigers face off against the Panthers at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Bunkie has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 11 runs per game on average), something Marksville will no doubt try to take advantage of.
