With a playoff win on the line, Huntington North rose to the challenge on Monday. They blew past the Fort Wayne Wayne Generals 17-3. The win continues a trend for the Vikings in their matchups with the Generals: they've now won seven in a row.

Ava Geiger and Chey Catellier made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, Geiger tossed three innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. Meanwhile, Catellier pitched two innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off two hits. Geiger has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances. At the plate, Geiger went 2-for-3 with three runs and two RBI, while Catellier went 2-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base. That's the most runs Catellier has posted since back in April of 2024.

In other batting news, Huntington North got a massive performance out of Ellie Mendez, who went 2-for-3 with three runs, three RBI, and one stolen base. That's the most RBI Mendez has posted since back in April of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Anna Kalhoefer, who went 3-for-4 with five RBI and one run.

Huntington North kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 18 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least nine hits in five consecutive games.

Huntington North's record is now 2-18. As for Fort Wayne Wayne, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-16.

Huntington North wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, a 14-4 loss against Homestead on the 28th. Fort Wayne Wayne does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
