Basketball Recap: Wood River Skates Past Ontario with Ease

Wood River had to skate by with only a two-point margin when they last took the court, which might have inspired the 27-point drubbing they dealt Ontario on Friday. The Wolverines claimed a resounding 45-18 win over the Tigers. The victory was just business as usual for the Wolverines, who after three games remain undefeated this season.

Wood River was led to victory by Tobie Stilling and Taylor Heitzman. Stilling almost dropped a double-double with 21 points and nine rebounds, while Heitzman posted nine points along with seven boards and five assists. The dominant performance also gave Heitzman a new career-high in steals (five). Another player making a difference was Mylie Smith, who put up five points and three steals.

Wood River's win bumped their record up to 3-0. As for Ontario, they are on a 19-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-3.

Wood River has already played their next contest, a 37-33 defeat against Harper on the 6th. As for Ontario, they will welcome Irrigon at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday.
