Baseball Recap: Papillion-Lavista Has No Trouble Against Pius X

Papillion-LaVista had to skate by with only a two-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the 11-run drubbing they dealt Pius X on Saturday. The Monarchs blew past the Thunderbolts 13-2. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 7-3 on April 2nd.

Cayden Miller spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned runs on six hits and racked up six Ks. He has been consistent for a while: he hasn't given up more than two walks in nine consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Isaac Pamaran and Colton Peters did most of the damage at the plate: Pamaran went 3-for-4 with six RBI, one stolen base, and one run, while Peters got on base in all four of his plate appearances with four runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. The dominant performance also gave Peters a new career-high in hits (two). Dylan Wernli was another key player, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with two RBI and one run.

Papillion-LaVista's record now sits at 14-9. As for Pius X, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-11 record this season.
