Football Game Preview: Heritage Eagles vs. Durango Demons + How To Watch

The Heritage Eagles will take on the Durango Demons at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. Each of these teams will be battling to keep a four-game winning streak alive.

Heritage is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup last Friday. They strolled past Grand Junction with points to spare, taking the game 28-13. The final result isn't all that surprising considering the Eagles' considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Colorado football rankings (they are ranked 19th, while the Tigers are ranked 60th).

Heritage can attribute much of their success to Cash Rubenzer, who rushed for 137 yards and two touchdowns on only seven carries, and Jamison Seese, who rushed for 166 yards and one TD while picking up 9.2 yards per carry. Those 137 rushing yards gave Rubenzer a new career-high.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Heritage was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 317 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 311 rushing yards in three consecutive matchups.

Meanwhile, Durango didn't have too much trouble with Ponderosa on Saturday as they won 35-21.

Heritage better keep an eye on Grady Feeney. He was instrumental in Durango's win, throwing for 161 yards and three touchdowns, while also rushing for 44 yards and a pair of scores. Their leading receiver Sebastian Tripp was Feeney's top target yet again, picking up 39 receiving yards and a pair of TDs.

Heritage's win bumped their record up to 8-3. As for Durango, their victory bumped their record up to 9-2.

Heritage took their win against Durango in their previous matchup back in November of 2024 by a conclusive 42-20 score. Will the Eagles repeat their success, or do the Demons have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
