The Archangels Catholic Defenders will face off against the Loomis Wolves on Friday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Archangels Catholic is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Thursday. They claimed a resounding 48-20 victory over Weeping Water. With the Defenders ahead 34-6 at the half, the game was all but over already.
It was another big night for Gavin Geilenkirchen, who rushed for 99 yards and a pair of touchdowns on only ten carries. Ethan Wieseler made the highlight reel by snagging an interception and taking it all the way to the house.

Archangels Catholic didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Wieseler and Tanner Classen. Classen is also on a roll when it comes to total tackles, as he's now made five or more in each of the last three games he's played. Wieseler got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.
Meanwhile, Loomis waltzed into their contest on Thursday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They breezed past the Trojans to the tune of 66-30.
Archangels Catholic better keep an eye on Jace Schukar. He was instrumental in Loomis' win, rushing for 225 yards and four TDs while picking up 8.7 yards per carry. They are undefeated when Schukar posts 80 or more rushing yards, but 1-2 otherwise.
Loomis was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 388 rushing yards. They are a perfect 6-0 when they've run for more than 200 yards.
On the defensive side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Loomis' defense and their five sacks. The heavy lifting was done by Jed Isaacson and Caden Swanson, who racked up four sacks between them.
Loomis' win bumped their record up to 7-2. As for Archangels Catholic, their victory bumped their record up to 8-1.
Friday's matchup might be decided on the ground. Archangels Catholic has been unstoppable on the ground this season, having averaged 234.8 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Loomis struggles in that department as they've been averaging 232.1 rushing yards. There's a good chance Friday's game turns into a tough fight on the ground.
