The biggest upset of the week belonged to California, who defeated 67th ranked Amador Valley, 29-7. Blake Bierwith ran for 206 yards during the win.
Foothill extended the longest winning streak in East Bay this week by beating Monte Vista, 38-3. The victory was the sixth in a row for the Falcons.
Matt Winaker put up the best numbers through the air as San Ramon Valley topped Livermore. He finished with a total of 14 completions for 217 yards and 1 touchdown. Winaker's favorite target this week was Carter Nichols, who caught 4 passes for 61 yards.
The Wolves' Winaker and JJ Koski have formed a dream team this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. 5-11 quarterback Winaker has thrown for 929 yards this season, while Koski has 22 catches for 368 yards. The Grizzlies' Bierwith leads the league in rushing yards with 902.
The top two teams in the league will face off this week when first place Foothill takes on second place California. Foothill bested the Mustangs last week, while California beat the Dons.
Bierwith of the Eric Billeci's team is just 98 yards short of surpassing 1,000 rushing yards for the season. Bierwith has rushed for 902 yards on 103 carries so far this year.
The Grizzlies scaled the state rankings by moving to 91 from 134 this week, the biggest jump in East Bay. California was able to move up by beating Amador Valley 29-7.
