Baseball Game Preview: Herscher Tigers vs. Beecher Bobcats

The Herscher Tigers will face off against the Beecher Bobcats at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. The two teams each escaped (but just barely!) with wins against their previous opponents.

While Herscher's victory against Watseka wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Tigers skirted past the Warriors 7-5. The Tigers haven't had any issues with the Warriors recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive win against them.

Nash Brubaker spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned (and three unearned) runs on four hits and racked up seven Ks. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Logan Egerton, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Payten Young, who went 1-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one RBI.

Meanwhile, Beecher had just enough and edged out Clifton Central 5-4 on Thursday.

Herscher's victory bumped their record up to 21-4. As for Beecher, their win bumped their record up to 9-10.

Herscher took their victory against Beecher in their previous matchup back in March of 2024 by a conclusive 12-6 score. Will the Tigers repeat their success, or do the Bobcats have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
