The Warhill Lions will head out on the road to square off against the Smithfield Packers at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Warhill is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.6 runs per game this season.

Warhill blew Jamestown out of the water the last time the pair played, but on Wednesday Jamestown got their revenge. The Lions fell just short of the Eagles by a score of 6-4. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Lions have suffered since May 23, 2025.

Warhill saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Brayden Muniz, who went 1-for-3 with two runs.

Meanwhile, Smithfield had to endure a five-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They came out on top against Bruton by a score of 9-4 on Wednesday.

Chase Darden was a standout: he went 1-for-4 with one triple, one stolen base, and two RBI. That triple was his first of the season. Alex Santana was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.

Smithfield kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. They are 2-1 when they post 11 or more hits.

Smithfield picked up their first road victory, bumping their record up to 4-8. As for Warhill, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-4.

Everything went Warhill's way against Smithfield in their previous meeting back in March, as Warhill made off with a 7-0 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Lions since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
