Basketball Recap: South Fayette Lions vs. Mars Fightin' Planets

There's no place like home for the South Fayette Lions, who bounced back after a tough loss on the road last Tuesday. They enjoyed a cozy 52-34 victory over Mars on Friday. That result was just more of the same for these two, as South Fayette also won the last time the pair played back in January.

Mars' loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Will Wilson, who scored ten points along with seven rebounds and two steals. Another player making a difference was Austin Campbell, who scored eight points along with three steals.

South Fayette is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight games, which provided a nice bump to their 10-8 record this season. As for Mars, they dropped their record down to 10-10 with that defeat, which was their third straight on the road.

South Fayette will square off against the Indians at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Mars, they will be playing at home against the Colts at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in Pennsylvania (Chartiers Valley is ranked 150th, while the Fightin' Planets are ranked 127th).
