Basketball Game Preview: Ridgeview Mustangs vs. Cornerstone Christian Cyclones

The Ridgeview Mustangs are taking a road trip to face off against the Cornerstone Christian Cyclones at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Ridgeview has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.

Ridgeview came up short against Tremont on Tuesday, falling 82-61. The defeat continues a trend for the Mustangs in their matchups with the Turks: they've now lost four in a row.

Meanwhile, Cornerstone Christian was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They lost to Tri-Valley at home by a 60-42 margin. While losing is never fun, the Cyclones can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 610th, while the Vikings are ranked 145th).

Cornerstone Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 3-10. As for Ridgeview, they now have a losing record at 6-7.

Ridgeview strolled past Cornerstone Christian in their previous meeting back in January of 2024 by a score of 62-46. The rematch might be a little tougher for Ridgeview since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
