Football Recap: Calhan Falls to Akron in First Game of Season + How To Watch

Calhan kicked off their season on the road on Thursday and hit a couple of potholes. They took a blow against the Akron Rams, falling 50-6. The Bulldogs were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 30-6.

Kolten Randel was a one-man wrecking crew For Akron. as he rushed for 87 yards and two scores on only eight carries, and also threw for 205 yards and one touchdown while completing 77.8% of his passes. Those 205 passing yards gave Randel a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Jace Curtis, who gained 91 total yards and two touchdowns.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Calhan will take on West Grand at 7:00 p.m. on September 5. As for Akron, they will square off against St. Mary's at 7:00 p.m. on September 5.
