Softball Recap: Scott Eagles vs. Mason County Royals
After flying high against Lloyd Memorial on Tuesday, Scott came back down to earth. The Eagles fell just short of the Mason County Royals by a score of 8-7 on Wednesday. If the Eagles were looking for revenge after losing 10-6 to the Royals when the teams met back in April of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.
Emerson Morman made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and fired off two home runs and three RBI while going 2-for-4. Those home runs marked the first that she has launched this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Katie Fraley, who went 3-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI.
Scott now has a losing record of 8-9-1. As for Mason County, the victory snapped their losing streak at eight games and leaves them with a 5-10 record.
The future could be bright for both Scott and Mason County: their next opponents haven't had the best luck recently. The Eagles will try to hand Pendleton County their eighth-straight defeat when the two meet at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. Meanwhile, Mason County will look to extend Fleming County's six-game losing streak when they meet at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
