Chugiak faced Soldotna in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Saturday. The Mustangs came out on top against the Stars by a score of 2-0. The victory continues a trend for the Mustangs in their matchups with the Stars: they've now won three in a row.

Chugiak's offense was headlined by Catheryn Townsend and Audrey Parks, who picked up five kills apiece. They got some help from Oliviya Rodriguez and her 15 assists. Townsend was also solid from the service line: she led the team with three aces.

When it comes to explaining why Soldotna lost, don't look at Daisy Samples. Despite the final result, she had 13 digs. Samantha Piscoya also deserves some recognition as she had her first kill of the season.
