Baseball Recap: Marana Wins Going Away Against Sabino

After only one run in their last matchup, Marana made sure to put some runs up on the board against Sabino on Tuesday. The Tigers blew past the Sabercats 12-0. The win continues a trend for the Tigers in their matchups with the Sabercats: they've now won four in a row.

Not much got past Kai Colgan, who gave up just two hits and racked up seven Ks to keep Sabino off the board. Colgan also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Marana is 2-1 when he allows at most three earned runs, but 3-7 otherwise.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Brandon Collings, who scored three runs while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. Those three runs gave him a new career-high. Connor Ellis was another key player, scoring a run and stealing two bases while going 2-for-4.

Marana's record is now 5-8. As for Sabino, they are on a ten-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-8.

Marana has already played their next game, a 7-2 defeat against Canyon del Oro on the 27th. As for Sabino, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next contest, a 10-0 loss against Cholla on the 26th.
