Basketball Recap: Slocum Takes Down Covington in a Playoff Battle

With a playoff win on the line, Slocum rose to the challenge on Tuesday. They came out on top against the Covington Owls by a score of 41-33.

Slocum's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Carter Sbrusch led the charge by going 7-for-17 on his way to 19 points. The match was Sbrusch's 15th in a row with at least 15 points. Braydon Minton was another key player, almost dropping a double-double with ten points and nine rebounds.

Slocum has been performing well recently as they've won nine of their last 11 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 21-12 record this season. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 38.2 points. Covington's loss dropped their record down to 16-9.

Slocum didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 44-40 defeat against Huckabay on the 21st. Covington does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
