There's no place like home for Appalachian, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Tuesday. They put the hurt on the Coosa Christian Conquerors with a sharp 9-3 victory on Thursday. Considering the Eagles have won 17 matchups by more than five runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Appalachian pushed their record up to 22-3 with the win, which was their eighth straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.3 runs over those games. As for Coosa Christian, their loss was their first in the region, dropping their region record down to 3-1 and their overall record down to 13-9.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Appalachian beat the Conquerors by a score of 11-2 later that day.
