Basketball Recap: Sam Lind's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Tom Bean over Bland

Tom Bean was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They received a blow as they fell 49-32 to the Bland Tigers. While losing is never fun, the Tomcats can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 734th, while the Tigers are ranked 133rd).

Tom Bean's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Sam Lind, who almost dropped a double-double on nine points and ten boards. Another player making a difference was Reese Perkins, who posted six points and three steals.

Tom Bean's defeat dropped their record down to 7-7. As for Bland, the win keeps them at an undefeated 11-0.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Tom Bean will venture away from home to take on Trenton at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Tom Bean is facing Trenton at the right time seeing as Trenton is stuck on a four-game losing streak. As for Bland, they will head out to challenge Celeste at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Celeste is on a four-game streak of home wins, Bland a four-game streak of away wins (dating back to last season)-- so someone will have to leave a streak behind on the court.
