Winneconne extended their winning streak to eight games thanks to a huge performance from Brody Schaffer. The Wolves came out on top against the Fox Valley Lutheran Foxes by a score of 38-31 on Thursday for which the team can thank Schaffer, who rushed for 200 yards and a pair of touchdowns while picking up 8.3 yards per carry, and also threw for 157 yards and one TD. He also deserves a shoutout for his performance on D, making three total tackles and defending one pass in addition to snagging two interceptions.

Winneconne didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off four passes before the game was over. Schaffer led the group effort, picking up two of those interceptions all by himself. He is also on a roll when it comes to rushing touchdowns, as he's now punched in two or more in each of the last three games he's played.

Winneconne's win bumped their record up to 8-0. As for Fox Valley Lutheran, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-3 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Winneconne is set to face off against their familiar foe Seymour at 7:00 p.m. on the 17th. The two teams have allowed few points on average (the Wolves 6.9, the Thunder 10) so any points scored will be well earned. Meanwhile, Fox Valley Lutheran will square off against rival Shawano Community at 7:00 p.m. on the 17th.
