Recap: Brebeuf Jesuit Preparatory Braves vs. Zionsville Eagles

The Brebeuf Jesuit Preparatory Braves pushed their score all the way to 64 on Friday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 65-64 to Zionsville. Brebeuf Jesuit Preparatory has not had much luck with Zionsville recently, as the team's come up short the last six times they've met.

Several Braves players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Evan Haywood, who scored 25 points along with five rebounds. Haywood scored a full 39.1% of Brebeuf Jesuit Preparatory's points, the fourth time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Javawn Brooks, who scored 15 points.

Maguire Mitchell continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Zionsville, scoring 32 points along with six rebounds. The matchup was Mitchell's 12th in a row with at least ten points. Drew Snively was another key contributor, scoring 19 points.

Brebeuf Jesuit Preparatory's loss dropped their record down to 7-3. As for Zionsville, they have been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 7-5 record this season.

Brebeuf Jesuit Preparatory will be staying on the road on Tuesday to face off against Ben Davis at 6:30 p.m. on January 9th. As for Zionsville, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Noblesville at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
