Basketball Game Preview: Great Hearts Northern Oaks Griffins vs. Marion Bulldogs

The Great Hearts Northern Oaks Griffins will head out on the road to square off against the Marion Bulldogs at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Great Hearts Northern Oaks' favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last six contests.

Great Hearts Northern Oaks took a loss when they played away from home on Friday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Tuesday. They took down Young Men's Leadership Academy 76-62.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Great Hearts Northern Oaks to victory, but perhaps none more so than Caden Collins, who went 8 for 13 on his way to 25 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Michael Glowe, who dropped a double-double on 20 points and ten boards.

Marion has been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. They were one points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 37-36 heartbreaker at the hands of Randolph. The game marked the Bulldogs' lowest-scoring match so far this season.

Marion's defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 18-7. As for Great Hearts Northern Oaks, their victory bumped their record up to 12-10.

Great Hearts Northern Oaks barely slipped by Marion when the teams last played back in February of 2024, winning 50-49. The rematch might be a little tougher for Great Hearts Northern Oaks since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
