Basketball Preview: Lakes Eagles vs. Grayslake North Knights

The Lakes Eagles will be playing in front of their home fans against the Grayslake North Knights at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Last Wednesday, Lakes was beaten by the Rams 65-31. Lakes has struggled against the Rams recently, as their game on Wednesday was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.

Despite their loss, Lakes saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Paige-elicia Caruth, who scored six points, was perhaps the best of all.

Meanwhile, it's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 67-29, which was the final score in Grayslake North's tilt against the Scouts on Thursday. While losing is never fun, Grayslake North can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 552nd, while the Scouts are ranked 226th).

Lakes dropped their record down to 10-14 with that defeat, which was their third straight on the road. As for Grayslake North, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four games, which is still a better percentage than their 6-21 record this season.

Lakes took their win against the Knights in their previous meeting back in January by a conclusive 50-28. Will Lakes repeat their success, or do the Knights have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
