Soccer Game Preview: Brown County vs. Edgewood

The Brown County Eagles will face off against the Edgewood Mustangs at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.

Brown County is headed into Monday's matchup following a draw, the team's first since August 26. Neither they nor Beech Grove could gain the upper hand on Tuesday so the two teams had to settle for a 0-0 draw.

Meanwhile, Edgewood kept a clean sheet against West Vigo on Wednesday. They put the hurt on the Vikings with a sharp 5-0 win. The result was nothing new for Edgewood, who have now won seven matches by three goals or more so far this season.

They hit West Vigo with a four-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Kade Gilchrist (2), Jackson Crosby, Braelen Peterson, and Kellan Moore.

Edgewood's victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 11-3. Those home wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 37 goals over those five contests. Brown County's draw gives them a new season record of 4-6-2.

Brown County suffered a grim 9-0 defeat to Edgewood in their previous meeting back in September. Can the Eagles avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
