Baseball Game Preview: St. Joseph Lancers vs. Waterford Wolverines

The St. Joseph Lancers will take on the Waterford Wolverines at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (St. Joseph 3.4, Waterford 4) so any runs scored will be well earned.

On Thursday, St. Joseph came up short against Burlington and fell 7-2. The Lancers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

St. Joseph saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Zach Rizzo, who went 1-for-2 with one RBI.

Meanwhile, Waterford came into Saturday's match having lost three straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. Everything went their way against Brookfield East on Saturday as they made off with a 13-3 win. The Wolverines might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won ten games by eight runs or more this season.

Waterford's victory bumped their record up to 17-8. As for St. Joseph, their loss dropped their record down to 21-6.

St. Joseph couldn't quite get it done against Waterford in their previous meeting back in April of 2024 as they fell 9-4. Can the Lancers avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
