Football Recap: Adams City Eagles vs. Longmont Trojans
Adams City scored the most points they've had all season on Friday, but it wasn't enough. They were dealt a 62-14 defeat at the hands of the Longmont Trojans. The loss continues a trend for the Eagles in their matchups with the Trojans: they've now lost three in a row.
A big part of Longmont's victory came down to the chemistry between Kolby Holmes and his top target Joey Foot. Holmes threw for 336 yards and six touchdowns while completing 76% of his passes while Foot picked up 216 receiving yards and three touchdowns. Foot was no stranger to the big play, connecting on a big catch that went for 50 yards. A healthy portion of Holmes' aerial production (81 yards to be exact) also went to Rhys Odom, who also brought in a receiving touchdown.
Adams City's defeat dropped their record down to 1-9. As for Longmont, their win bumped their record up to 3-7.
As of now, neither Adams City nor Longmont have any future games scheduled.
