Softball Recap: Roseville Raiders vs. White Bear Lake Bears
Roseville dropped their record down to 5-11 on Friday, which also ended the team's three-game streak of wins on the road. They fell just short of the White Bear Lake Bears by a score of 2-1. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last six times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.
As for White Bear Lake, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-6 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.3 runs on average over those games.
For White Bear Lake's part, Lilly Martin spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered a run (which was unearned) on two hits and racked up 13 Ks.
On the hitting side, Maddy Belisle was excellent, going 3-for-4 with two doubles and one RBI. Those two doubles gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Lauren Elias, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one run.
