Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Anderson). They simply couldn't be stopped on Friday as they easily beat the Central Valley Falcons 64-18. The high-flying offensive performance was a huge turnaround for the Cubs considering their six-point performance the matchup before.
Anderson got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Cooper Crye out in front who threw for 456 yards and six TDs while picking up 16.3 yards per attempt. Those six passing touchdowns gave Crye a new career-high. Jagger Johnson helped Crye out on the ground, rushing for 88 yards and a pair of touchdowns on only seven carries, while also picking up 51 receiving yards and one score.
Central Valley lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Drason Recio, who picked up 122 receiving yards and a pair of TDs. Another back making a difference was Aj Johnson, who rushed for 128 yards and one touchdown.
Anderson's victory was their first in the league, bumping their league record up to 1-3 and their overall record up to 5-4. As for Central Valley, they dropped their record down to 2-7 with the defeat, which was their fourth straight on the road.
