Baseball Recap: Mifflinburg Wildcats vs. Midd-West Mustangs
Mifflinburg extended their losing streak to six on Saturday, dropping their season record down to 6-11 in the process. They took an 8-5 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Midd-West Mustangs. The Wildcats were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Mustangs apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in April of 2024.
Chad Martin made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI. Those stolen bases marked the first that he has snagged this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Aaron Bolick, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one stolen base and one run.
As for Midd-West, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 6-10. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.0 runs over those games.
On Midd-West's side, Colton Aumiller was excellent, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, two RBI, and one double. Another player making a difference was Alex Trogan, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs.
Coming up, Mifflinburg will welcome Wyalusing Valley at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Midd-West, they are taking a road trip to square off against Mount Carmel at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday. The Mustangs' pitchers better be ready for this one: the RED TORNADOES have averaged an impressive 8.9 runs per game this season.
